  • Domain lock off

    Turn off the domain lock at your current provider, otherwise the transfer cannot start.

  • Transfer code at hand

    Request the transfer code from your current provider. It is sometimes called an authorisation or EPP code.

  • The holder's e-mail address is correct

    For some extensions the holder receives an e-mail to confirm the transfer. Make sure that address works.

  • Registered for more than 60 days

    A .com, .net or other generic extension can only be transferred 60 days after registration or a previous transfer.

For .nl domains the transfer is immediate; extensions such as .com, .net and .info can take up to 5 days.

Do you have a domain somewhere else and want to transfer it to my.host? You need a transfer code or authorization code from your current provider. For some domains you also need to turn off the domain lock.

A premium domain name is a domain name that is worth considerably more than a non-generic domain name. That's why it's called Premium. Premium domain names come in two variants:

  • Domain names from older extensions with a very good generic name, such as auto.nl or candy.com, that have been registered for many years. Because these domain names have already built up a lot of 'value' and are very generic, they're worth much more money in a sale than a non-generic domain name.
  • New gTLD domain names, involving a very generic name or company name that isn't registered yet but is expected to gain a lot of value. The registration price of these domain names can run up to several thousand euros. Examples of such premium domain names are gold.watch or healthy.club.

With my.host, transferring a domain name is easy. Order your domain name and any other services such as web hosting through the shopping cart. The registration costs for the domain depend on the extension. Check the costs using the domain checker.

During the domain transfer you can then enter a transfer code. You can request the transfer code from your (former) current provider. It's important that any “domain transfer lock” has been removed. Note: don't cancel your old services just yet!

After selecting the domain, you can optionally link hosting to it. Complete the order in the control panel. After that, the website can be migrated or you can start building the website.
