Change the nameservers of your domain name

With nameservers, you determine where the DNS management of your domain name is located. Changing the nameservers of a domain name therefore affects both your website and email traffic.

  1. Create nameserver profile
In this knowledge base article, we explain how you can change the nameservers. To do this, we will create a new nameserver profile, and then link it to your domain name. First, we will create a new nameserver profile. Click on domain names on the start page of our control panel. Then hover over 'Domain names' and select 'My nameserver profiles' and then click on 'Add new nameserver profile'.
    Create nameserver profile
Enter the following details here. For 'Profile name', enter a name that is 'easily recognizable' for you. For example Wix, Whitelabel, Cloudflare, etc. Then fill in the first row of the following columns with the nameserver. These are the nameservers of the external service you want to point to. You do not need to fill in the other columns (IPv4 and IPv6). These will be automatically added if they are available.
See this example for a correctly configured nameserver profile.
    Configure nameservers
Click on 'Create profile' in the bottom right. The profile has now been successfully created.
  2. Link nameserver profile to domain name
Now we are going to activate the created nameserver profile for your domain name in our control panel. This can be done per domain name or in bulk.

    - Change nameservers for a single domain name:
To do this, navigate to your domain name via 'Domain names' and click on your domain name.
    Navigate to your domain name
Under the heading 'Domain name settings', click on the 'Edit icon' in the 'Nameserver profile' row.
A popup will now appear where you can select nameserver profiles. Choose the created nameserver profile from this list. And click on 'Save changes'.
Change nameservers of a domain name
    - Change nameservers of multiple domain names at once in bulk:

You can also change the nameservers of multiple domain names at once to another nameserver profile.
To do this, navigate to your domain name via 'Domain names' and then click on 'Options -> Activate bulk options'
Select the domain names you want to change in bulk and then click on 'Options -> Change nameservers'
A popup will now appear where you can select nameserver profiles. Choose the created nameserver profile from this list. And click on 'Save changes'.
Is DNSSEC active on your configured nameservers? Then our system will automatically retrieve the public signing key (DNSKEY) from your nameservers and configure this so your domain name is immediately secured with DNSSEC.

Your changes have now been saved, it can take up to 24 hours for all changes to be processed.
