New domain extensions.

Do you have a domain somewhere else and want to transfer it to my.host? You need a transfer code or authorization code from your current provider. For some domains you also need to turn off the domain lock.

Log in to the control panel, search for your domain name and click transfer. Then enter the transfer code and check out. For .nl domains the transfer is immediate; for extensions such as .com, .net and .info it can take up to 5 days.

Nameservers determine where the DNS management of your domain name is handled. Changing a domain's nameservers therefore affects both your website and your email traffic.

When you've just ordered a domain name or hosting, you naturally want to get started right away. A domain name is registered immediately after your order. In most cases your domain name is actually active within a few hours. For some extensions it can take a little longer, 24 to 48 hours.

A premium domain name is a domain name that is worth considerably more than a non-generic domain name. That's why it's called Premium. Premium domain names come in two variants:

• Domain names from older extensions with a very good generic name, such as auto.nl or candy.com, that have been registered for many years. Because these domain names have already built up a lot of 'value' and are very generic, they're worth much more money in a sale than a non-generic domain name.
• New gTLD domain names, involving a very generic name or company name that isn't registered yet but is expected to gain a lot of value. The registration price of these domain names can run up to several thousand euros. Examples of such premium domain names are gold.watch or healthy.club.
