In August we announced that we are bringing my.host to the rest of Europe, with my.host as an English-language website. Today we are taking the first real step across the border: my.host has opened an office in Copenhagen, officially establishing itself in Denmark.
Danish customers can now visit my.host/dk, a fully Danish website with Danish-language support. Soon we will also launch physical servers in Denmark, allowing Danish customers to keep their data within the country.
Why Denmark?
The Danish hosting market has similarities with the Netherlands. A large part of the well-known Danish hosting brands have been acquired in recent years and are now owned by a handful of large investment groups. For customers, this often means the same as it does here: less choice, prices creeping up every year, and support that feels increasingly distant.
We believe it can be done differently. Good hosting and support at a fair rate without fuss, as we also provide in the Netherlands.
Official registrar at Punktum dk
Along with the launch, we have become an official registrar at Punktum dk, the registry behind .dk. This allows us to register .dk domain names directly at the source, without intermediaries, just as we already do with SIDN (.nl), DNS Belgium (.be) and Internetstiftelsen (.nu & .se).
Dutch customers will notice this too: if you want to establish your brand in Denmark or start a Danish website, you can register or transfer your .dk domain name easily via my.host. We also support Fast Track Transfer from Punktum dk, allowing a .dk domain name to be transferred to us without manual transfer codes.
What does this mean for you?
For Dutch customers, nothing changes: your services remain on our servers in the Netherlands, at the same rates and with the same support team.
