my.host is SIDN Registrar and Rates 2024

my.host proudly announces that it is now officially an aggregated registrar with SIDN, Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland. This new milestone enables my.host to register and manage .nl domain names directly, without the involvement of a third party. This brings several benefits to our valued customers, including improved efficiency, cost savings, and the ability to maintain our competitive rates.

Benefits for the customer

By eliminating intermediaries, we can purchase .nl domain names at the sharpest rate. Additionally, we can maintain better control over the management and support of our customers’ domain names. We can also directly contact SIDN if there are any issues or questions regarding domain registration. This results in improved customer service and more efficient handling of domain-related matters.

Increase in .nl rates and our approach

Since January 2024, SIDN has increased the rate for a .nl domain name by 10%. In previous years, similar price increases have been implemented by SIDN. However, my.host has chosen not to pass these price increases on to our customers, including for 2024. The rate for a .nl domain name will therefore remain € 4.99 per year in 2024 as well. This is made possible in part because we are now an SIDN registrar, allowing us to achieve cost savings. At my.host, we strive to be a transparent provider and provide our customers with a competitive rate for their .nl domain names. We understand that price increases can be frustrating, which is why we want to assure our customers that we will continue to do our best to offer our services as competitively as possible while continuing to deliver high-quality services.

Future .nl rates

SIDN has indicated that it expects to increase its rates every year, mainly due to inflation. Although we, as a transparent provider, would like to maintain the same rates, there is a possibility that we might eventually have to comply. Currently, nothing is known about this because there is no information available from SIDN for the coming years. However, we aim to keep our customers informed of any rate changes and will strive to continue providing the best prices and service.
