What is Public Cloud and how does it work?

Are your servers located exclusively in the Netherlands?
Yes, all our servers are located in the Netherlands in modern, well-secured data centers. This ensures low latency, high performance and compliance with Dutch and EU legislation on data storage and privacy.
Does Public Cloud run on green hosting?
Yes, our Public Cloud runs entirely on green hosting with energy from 100% renewable sources. In addition, we take several initiatives to be sustainable. Read more about this on our sustainability page.
What is Apache CloudStack™?
Apache CloudStack™ is an open-source cloud management platform used to manage Public Cloud infrastructures. It offers advanced automation and an intuitive interface to easily manage servers and networks. my.host's cloud platform uses Apache CloudStack™.
What is the difference between Public Cloud and a traditional VPS?
A traditional VPS runs on a single server with fixed resources, whereas Public Cloud gives you access to a fully distributed platform. This lets you scale flexibly, get higher availability and benefit from better performance. You also have access to many more features such as private networks and load balancing.
Why are you cheaper than most other providers?

How quickly can I set up a server in the Public Cloud?

What does Public Cloud cost and how is it billed?
You pay once a month for what you've actually used. There are no fixed costs, and you can flexibly scale up or down whenever you want.
How does the free € 200 credit work?
New customers receive € 200 in credit to test our Public Cloud services. This credit is offset against your monthly invoices for this service until your full credit has been used up.
Which operating systems are supported?
We support a wide range of operating systems, including various Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, AlmaLinux, RockyLinux). You can also upload your own OS image.
What SLA is included with my Public Cloud?
Our Public Cloud platform is set up fully redundantly with High Availability and Ceph storage. We guarantee an uptime of 99.99%. If we don't achieve this, you get our service free for 1 month.
What is the uplink speed?
Depending on the chosen offering, the uplink speed is at least 1 Gbps and at most 8 Gbps. You can find the exact speed on our pricing page. This ensures fast and reliable connectivity.
Do you also support private networks?
Yes, we support private networks so your servers can communicate securely and in isolation. You can also create a Virtual Private Cloud.
Can I upload my own images?
Yes, you can upload and use your own OS images in our Public Cloud. This offers maximum flexibility for custom solutions.
Can I migrate from another cloud provider to you?
Yes, you can migrate by creating a server image of your instance(s) at your current cloud provider and uploading it to our Public Cloud in CloudStack®. This ensures a smooth transition without having to rebuild your infrastructure.
