Free .nl Domain Name Transfer at my.host

We are pleased to announce that we are now offering free .nl domain name transfers. This means you can transfer your .nl domain name to us at no extra cost. In this blog post, we’d like to tell you about this new service and how you can benefit from it.

We offer this service because SIDN (the registry for .nl domain names) does not charge any fees for transferring .nl domains between registrars. Since my.host recently became an aggregated registrar with SIDN, we can also offer this to our customers at no cost. One of our goals is to be as transparent as possible to our customers, which is why we want to pass this advantage on.

What does this mean for you as a customer?

If you are considering transferring your .nl domain name to my.host, this is the perfect time to take action. Previously, there were costs associated with transferring a .nl domain name, but with our new service, this is no longer applicable for .nl domain names. You only pay for your .nl domain name when it needs to be renewed, not during the transfer.

When do I pay for my domain renewal?

For transferring a .nl domain name, the expiration date of your domain name is taken from the SIDN database, because the domain name is being transferred internally between 2 registrars and this expiration date is retained. It may differ from the renewal date maintained by your previous provider. If you, for example, just paid for a year but the domain name has not yet been renewed by the previous provider in the SIDN database, the renewal will be charged with us.
