About two years ago, we proudly announced that my.host had entered into a partnership with WeForest, an international organization dedicated to restoring forests and ecosystems, and supporting local communities.
In that initial project, we collaborated on reforestation in Desa’a, Ethiopia. With our contribution, thousands of trees were planted and protected, and farmers developed new perspectives through sustainable agricultural methods. That project marked an important step for us: providing hosting services with minimal climate impact while simultaneously investing in nature restoration.
We are now expanding our collaboration with WeForest.
New Chapter: Misiones in Argentina
We are excited to expand our partnership with WeForest with a new initiative: the Wildlife Corridors project in Misiones, Argentina.

This project takes place in the province of Misiones, in northeastern Argentina. It is home to part of the famous Atlantic Forest, one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Unfortunately, this unique ecosystem is severely threatened: more than 80% of the original forest has already been lost to deforestation, agricultural expansion, and habitat fragmentation.
The project focuses on restoring this landscape and connecting natural areas so that animals like the jaguar can have more habitat and biodiversity can recover. The jaguar is an iconic species of the Atlantic Forest and acts as an ‘umbrella species’: protecting its habitat also contributes to the survival of countless other species. At the same time, local communities gain new opportunities to make their agriculture more sustainable and future-proof.
What Does the Project Involve?
In concrete terms, the project works on several pillars:
- Restoration of Agricultural Land: existing plots are transformed to prevent forest fragmentation.
- Agroforestry & Assisted Natural Regeneration: farmers combine agriculture with trees, or support the natural recovery of degraded land.
- Collaboration with 49 Small Farmers: families receive training, materials, and support to make their land more productive and greener.
- Ecological Connections: natural areas like the Yabotí Biosphere Reserve are connected with provincial parks like Piñalito and Cruce Caballero, allowing animals to move more safely.
- Improved Access to Water: irrigation and facilities improve agricultural yield, reducing pressure on surrounding forests.
Our Contribution
We proudly share what our collaboration specifically means for the project in Misiones:
- 🌱 Restoration of 1 hectare of degraded land (approximately 1.4 football fields).
- 🌳 Protection and growth of around 2,000 trees.
- 🌍 Storage of approximately 390 tons of CO₂ over 30 years (these values are indicative).
With this contribution, we support not only the environment but also the local communities directly dependent on a healthy ecosystem.

Why This is Important
The Atlantic Forest is one of the richest but also most threatened biodiversity areas in the world. By restoring and connecting habitats, the survival chances of many species are increased. For the jaguar, this means more contiguous habitat to hunt and reproduce, providing a better chance of survival in this region.

- Endangered Animals: the jaguar symbolizes a resilient ecosystem and directly benefits from restoration efforts.

At my.host, we believe that sustainability is more than energy-efficient servers or green electricity. By collaborating with organizations like WeForest, we can structurally contribute to the restoration of ecosystems that are crucial worldwide. With the project in Misiones, we expand our impact on nature restoration, contribute to the fight against climate change, and demonstrate that a hosting company can mean more than just digital infrastructure.
Our collaboration with WeForest began with ambition and is steadily growing. With the new project in Misiones, we add an initiative that not only plants trees but also restores entire landscapes, supports local communities, and gives endangered species, with the jaguar as a symbol, a future.
