Setting up a remote MySQL connection

Do you want to allow external connections to your MySQL database? In this knowledge base article we will show you how. 

Step 1

Log in to DirectAdmin, don't know how? Then take a look at the following article: https://mijn.host/kb/hoe-log-ik-in-op-directadmin/

Step 2

Go to Account Manager and then to MySQL Management, select the database you want to make an external connection to.  

Step 3

You will then see the following screen:

At Access Hosts you can enter which IP address you want to allow to connect externally to the MySQL database.

You always connect to the server by using port 3306.
