How do I restore a backup of my hosting package?

Accidentally changed the settings? Or deleted important files? There can be many reasons why the website is no longer working. Fortunately, mijn.host has a solution, we create a backup of your site every day so you can always revert to a previous, properly working version.

Below we explain how so you can quickly get back to work. You can follow the above steps if you want to restore a full backup of the hosting package. Please note that if you have multiple domains on your hosting package, all of them will be restored, which is not always desirable. At the bottom of the article, we explain how you can restore a backup for 1 domain. 

Restoring a full backup

Step 1

Log in to the mijn.host ControlPanel and find your hosting package. 

Step 2

Choose the Backups tab from the overview. 

Step 3

You will enter the JetBackups environment. Here you select Restore & Download.  

Step 4

Choose a backup with a day and time of your choice and click on Restore. 

Restoring a specific backup for 1 domain

The first 3 steps are identical for restoring the backup for 1 domain. 

Step 5

Click on Restore & Download, then on Home Directory, and then Change File Selection.

Step 5

Navigate to Domains > uw-domein.nl > public_html, you can then select the entire public_html folder to restore when you click on Select Files. 

Step 6

Now that you have made the selection, you can click on Restore. 

It may take a few minutes before the backup is restored and the website is fully working again.
