Importing a database in DirectAdmin
You want to import your database but do not know how? In this knowledge base article, we explain how you can easily import your database via DirectAdmin.
Via DirectAdmin
This is the fastest and easiest way. Log in to DirectAdmin. In the Account Manager menu, go to Databases, or in Dutch Account beheer and Databasen.
If you do not have a database yet, create one. You will see the button at the bottom. If your database is present, click on manage/beheren. See the image below.
In the management screen, you now have multiple options. The functions for import/export/repair etc. are at the bottom, you might have to scroll down a bit. Choose import.
Choose your database file and upload it. You will now get the message: Continue with import. And whether you want to empty the existing database (clean/opschonen).
With an empty database or an existing database that needs to be completely replaced by your import, you should check this box. If you want to keep other existing tables, do not check this option.
Click Yes and your database will be imported.
Via PhpMyAdmin
Log in to DirectAdmin, select Extra Features in the left bar and then PhpMyAdmin.
To get to the PhpMyAdmin page you sometimes have to wait a while. Sometimes your browser blocks pop-ups, so also check your address bar to see if there is a notification.
Once logged in, click on Import on the home screen. Provide the file of the database you want to import here and then click on Go to start the import.
