What is a snapshot?

With all our VPS packages, we offer the ability to create a snapshot yourself. This is an image of the complete data currently on the server. So it is a complete backup of the current VPS. Because these snapshots are created at 'block level', and not at 'file level', it is not possible to restore individual files from them. Restoring a snapshot therefore always restores all data.

Creating a snapshot of the VPS

You can create snapshots in our control panel. Keep in mind that the performance of your VPS may be reduced while a snapshot is being created.

1. Select your VPS

Once logged into the control panel, click on Servers under the Virtual Private Server heading. You will then see all the VPSs you have with mijn.host. Open the VPS for which you want to create a snapshot.

2. Create a snapshot

Click the "Create backup" button to create the snapshot. A pop-up will appear where you confirm this by clicking "Yes".

One free snapshot is included with your package by default, even in our cheapest package.
