How do I change the root password of my instance?

Log in to the public cloud dashboard.

1. Click on compute on the left and then instances.

1. Click on the instance for which you want to change the password.

1. Stop the instance.

1. A pop-up will appear asking if you are sure. Click OK
2. After stopping, a magnifying glass icon will appear. Click on that icon.

1. A pop-up window will appear, here you enter the new root password.

1. Then press OK. After a while, a pop-up window will appear with the password so you can copy it if needed.

1. Start your instance again.

Success, you can also immediately test your password via the console if you want.

1. Open the console for your instance.

1. Enter your username (root) and paste your password using the VNC notepad function.
