Set up email in Windows 10 or newer
Step 1: Open the email client.
Select Start and search for the keyword “Email”. Then click on “Mail” in the results.
Step 2: Add the email account.
Click on “Add account”. If a pop-up appears, select “Advanced configuration”. Then click on “Internet email”.
Step 3: Configure mail.
Now we can configure the mail. We can enter the following details:
Email address | Enter your email address |
Username | Enter your email address again. |
Password | Enter the password you created in the mijn.host control panel. Forgot your password? Go to the webhosting package -> email -> accounts in the control panel and change the password for the email. |
Account name | The name you want to display for the email account. |
Send messages using this name | Company or person name that recipients can see. |
Incoming mail server | Enter the server address for the incoming email here. mail.uw-domein.nl:993 -> Replace uw-domein.nl with your own domain |
Account type | IMAP4 |
Outgoing mail server | Enter the server address for the outgoing email here. mail.uw-domein.nl:587 -> Replace uw-domein.nl with your own domain Note: if you get an error message, you can use port 465 |
Finally, there are a few extra options:
- Outgoing server requires authentication: check
- Use the same user name and password for sending email: check
- Require SSL for incoming email: check
- Require SSL for outgoing email: check
As a final step, click on “Sign in” and then on “Done”. The mail is now set up. Congratulations!
