Setting up mail in Thunderbird
If you have web hosting with mijn.host and have already created an email account, you can add this created email account in Thunderbird.
Procedure
Open Thunderbird and select Email to set up. When adding a new email account, you can enter the following in the first step:
Your full name: Enter the name of the mail account here, recipients will see this name as the sender.
Email address: Enter the email address of the created mail account here
Password: Enter the password of the created mail account here
Next, click on 'Configure manually' so that you can see more settings. Here you can configure the server settings for incoming and outgoing mail. You need to enter these as follows:
Incoming server:
Protocol: IMAP
Hostname: mail.domain.nl (replace your-domain.nl with the actual domain name)
Port: 993
Connection security: SSL/TLS
Authentication method: Normal password
Username: your created email address
Outgoing server:
Hostname: mail.domain.nl (replace your-domain.nl with the actual domain name)
Port: 465
Connection security: SSL/TLS
Authentication method: Normal password
Username: your created email address
This will then look as follows:
You can test the connection by clicking on 'Re-test'. If the settings are correct, you can continue and click on 'Done' to save the details.
Thunderbird is now set up and you can start emailing.
