Connect CalDAV calendar to Outlook in Windows
If you use the calendar in our webmail, it is also possible to synchronize it with other calendars via CalDAV synchronization. CalDAV is supported by default by almost all major email programs except Outlook. Fortunately, there is an extension available that allows you to use your CalDAV calendar in Outlook as well.
This guide explains how to synchronize your calendar in Office Outlook for Windows.
Downloading and installing CalDav Synchronizer
The extension used is CalDav Synchronizer. We assume that Outlook is already installed on your computer.
Download the extension from this page: https://caldavsynchronizer.org/download-2/
You have now downloaded a so-called "zip" file, which will look something like this: OutlookCalDavSynchronizer-x.x.x.zip
You need to extract this file, which you do by right-clicking on it and then selecting Extract All.
The installation is simple, open the recently extracted folder and click on CalDavSynchronizer.Setup.msi and go through the steps.
Setting up the connection with your calendar
Start Outlook and go to the CalDav Synchronizer tab. Click on Synchronization Profiles.
A new window will open. Click on the green plus sign at the top ("Add new profile"). The default profile type is correct, Generic CalDAV/CardDAV. Then click OK.
Next to the "Outlook folder" field, click the button with "..." and select the Calendar folder. Then click OK.
Under "Server Settings" you enter the login details for your CalDAV calendar. For the DAV URL, use the Alternate URL of your webmail calendar. You can find this here: https://webmail.mijn.host/#settings/mobilesync
The username is your email address and the password is the one for your email address.
Now click on "Test or discover settings" to verify the settings. Do you get an error message and can't figure it out? Feel free to contact our support.
If everything is set up correctly, save the profile and the configuration is complete!
Synchronize and check
Press the Synchronize now button under the CalDav Synchronizer tab.
Go to your calendar in Outlook; your calendar items should now be visible. If this is not the case, check if something went wrong while setting up the calendar. If it was successful, you can now use the calendar in Outlook!
