Authorisation code (Auth-ID) for your .dk domain: how to find it

When you want to transfer your .dk domain to a registrar, an authorisation code – also called an Auth-ID or EPP code – is the fastest route. The code is your digital key: it proves that it is you, the owner, who wants the transfer. With my.host, the transfer goes through immediately once we have the code.

How to generate the code (with login)

1. Go to selvbetjening.punktum.dk and log in with MitID, your user ID (Bruger-id) or email.
2. Click Domænenavne (domain names) and select the domain you want to transfer.
3. Select Skift forhandler (change registrar) under Administrer.
4. Click Generer ny kode (generate new code).
5. The code is shown on the page. It typically starts with OWN-TRANSFER-. Copy it.

How to get the code without logging in

1. Go to the front page of selvbetjening.punktum.dk.
2. Find the box Flyt dit .dk-domænenavn til forhandlerhåndtering (transfer your .dk domain to registrar management).
3. Enter the domain name and click Send link.
4. Punktum dk sends a link to the email address registered on the domain. You cannot choose the address yourself – this is a security measure.
5. Follow the link and copy the code.

What do you do with the code?

You give it to your new registrar, which uses it to request the transfer from Punktum dk. With my.host, you enter the code in the form on the domain transfer page. The transfer typically goes through immediately. If you prefer to transfer without a code, you can use Fast-Track in Punktum dk's self-service portal and choose my.host from the list.

Good to know about the code

• It expires. The code is valid for 14 days. If it has expired, simply generate a new one.
• It is personal. Share it only with the registrar you have chosen. It grants the ability to move the administration of your domain.
• It does nothing by itself. Generating a code does not move the domain. That only happens once the registrar has used the code.
• OWN-TRANSFER means the transfer was initiated by you as the owner – not by a registrar. This protects against unwanted transfers.

Problems?

• If you cannot see Skift forhandler, the domain may already be with a registrar. You can still switch to a new one.
• If you do not receive the link, check your spam folder and check which email address is registered on the domain with Punktum dk.
• If you can neither log in nor receive the link, contact Punktum dk's customer service.
